What is Google Adsense?

Google Adsense is the most recognized of all the Internet advertisement applications out there. Let’s face it, these days anything that has the Google Logo in front of it has a higher rate of being known than others. So what is Google Adsense and how does it work?
Like said before Google Adsense is an advertisement application wich can be integrated into your Website or Blog. It works pretty simple, all you have to do is :
- Apply to Google Adsense
- Get the code from the adsense menu
- Insert the Code into your Blog or Website
- Wait for the money to come
That sounds pretty easy doesn’t it? Well if it we’re that simple, everyone ever applied would be a millionaire right now. But that isn’t the case. In order to get money, a visitor has “to click” your Google Ad, thus the term “Pay Per Click (PPC)”. And that is the hard part.
When u search the Web, you’ll find many sites of people who will try to sell u their “Guaranteed to make XXXXXXX from Adsense in X days” Formula. And there are many SEO (Search Engine Optimizer) Gurus out there who can tell u how to create traffic to your site.
So where does the money come from? Let’s look at how adsense works. Below is a Block Diagram :
Do you feel Dizy looking at it? I’ll be honest, i do. So let me explain it in a more simpler way.
- Advertisers wants to make Money from their Product on their site, so they want more people to come visit (more traffic) wich will increase the possibility that somebody’s gotta purchase their product.
- Advertisers joins Google AdWords, gives a certain amount of money to Google and buys certain Key Words, so Google will put their Ads on somebody’s site with relative content so that the traffic increases.
- A Publisher joins Google AsSense and puts the generated Code into their Site.
- A Visitor Clicks on the Link.
- The Publisher gets Money and the Advertiser gets Traffic
- Everybody is Happy
Google AdSense is currently available in these formats :
- AdSense for Content, the most common Ad. This can be in Text and Images (Banners)
- AdSense for Search, having the Google Search engine embbeded on your site is a neat feature, and also it will display some additional adds.
- AdSense for Feeds, Ads can also be put on your Feeds.
